My Commitment to You

I am a mother to 2 children in District 5 and am running for School Board because I have a passion for working with people to create educational opportunities for every student. I see students struggling daily with class size, burned out teachers and a lack of leadership starting at the very top. Students are struggling to the point where parents are forced to seek additional help outside of the school district.

I believe that I can solve these problems.

I have over 20 years of experience in organizational management from partnering to create a strategic vision to day-to-day people and operation leadership. I believe in empowering teachers to teach and will use my skills to reduce their administrative workloads.

On top of my executive leadership skills, I am a Policy Fellow at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and have an MBA from the Carlson School, University of Minnesota. I have 20+ years as an elementary classroom volunteer, youth sports coach, mentor to high school students and connector of students to career pathways. I have been involved in diverse education-focused non-profits for several decades including Minneapolis Public School reading and math volunteer, Room to Read, Africa Classroom Connection, Twin Cities RISE, and Aangan India. I am a strong believer in the benefit of mentorship and bringing not only resources but partnerships to bear on educational access and attainment for all students especially those from disadvantaged populations.
